Sure, they say every rose has its thorn, but the season premiere of Bret Michaels’ Rock of Love (his third televised search for a girlfriend) was reality show perfection. Mr. Michaels takes the show on the road this time, accommodating his harem of thrillingly scandalous near-ladies on a pair of tour buses, one pink, and one blue.
A few thoughts on the premiere:
Well, well, well! Looks like the folks at Destination Downtown are finally offering some solutions to the parking debacle that surrounds a night of Downtown leisure. The new, weekly Friday night Downtown Playground promotion starts this Friday, January 9, and here’s what saying “Destination Downtown” will get us:
Nebraska Cornhuskers one and all should head to Ham's this week (4530 St. Johns Ave.; (904) 381-6767) to revel in Big Red fever. Ham's and their 52 televisions (plus two big screens) has done a great job of hosting the Northeast Floridian Cornhusker Watch group this season, offering drink specials, good food, and cans of tomato juice to redden up the beer during Nebraska games.

Things got pretty wild Saturday night, boy. While on an overnight in New Smyrna Beach, my crew headed out to the local Bingo night, where we slammed Pepsis and inhaled secondhand smoke until the wee hour of 10 p.m.!

Tune in to 89.9 WJCT’s Electro Lounge from 9 - 11 p.m. Christmas Eve for all your holiday music needs. During the first hour, I’ll join host David Luckin to spin our favorite seasonal tracks, which won’t include The Christmas Shoes, I assure you. But, there will be Gretsch guitars.
'Tis the season to make this thing.
Thanks to Capifano Bob W. for sending in a bacon-related item. I encourage others to remember this blog whenever you see an exciting bit about the granddaddy of the breakfast meats.
